Okay, okay. I know I’ve been a terrible blogger. But with school starting, and work, and life.. it just gets hard. I have an unexpected day off tomorrow, thanks to my one class being online for the week so I’m choosing to not go to my second class, because it’s pointless to go for two hours. I’ll have to drive all that way, and the last two weeks we’ve done nothing but install Corel Draw and Windows on our Macs. So we’ll be learning the basics of the program, and I already learned the program in highschool. I feel like I know 90% of what I’m learning in all of my classes, and it just makes it boring. But for the stuff I don’t know, and the actual credits for a diploma and a job.. I need to keep going to school.
But it’ll all be for the best in the end, I guess. And I am learning a FEW things that I didn’t already know. Along with some new ways of doing things, so I guess it’s not all bad. But either way, I am super excited for my trip to Nashville at the end of Feb. I really just need to get away, and I want to go there so badly. I just want to go somewhere and take pictures of everything and be away from here. It’s almost exactly like how I felt before going to Florida last year, and I know that trip helped me so much.
But I think I’m going to head to bed now, because I’ve been up since 6 and was at school all day. After having a nice shot of Banana Jack with my whole family, it’s bed time for me. Hope you’re all doing well!

I have successfully made it through my first week of semester 2. I get monday/friday off each week, so I only have three days a week. Tuesday from 12-6, Wednesday from 8-5:30 (such a long day, because I barely get any breaks) and Thursday from 1-5:30. We didn’t really do much in any of the classes this week, and I actually managed to fall asleep in one of my classes.
My photography class is on Wed. from 1-3. You’d think that, it being photography and all, I’d be super excited for it- and I was. But it’s not really what I expected. The first class, we just watched a video of the history of photography.. so it was a dark room, and I was tired/uncomfortable, and I just ended up falling asleep while sitting up. During the course, there are 4 Canon cameras to be split between around 43 of us in the class, so we’ll get virtually no time with it. We aren’t allowed to bring our own cameras in, because that makes it ‘unfair’ if we have a different/better camera and/or lens. It’s going to be a mess, but I guess it’s all we have to work with.
For the most part, I’m pretty much a loner in my class- I switched from the Creative to the Digital program, so anyone I talked to (though I didn’t talk to many people often, and I tried to avoid the one who always talked to me the best I could) but I did make one friend. Kind of. Ish a friend. But you know, it gives me someone to (sometimes) talk to in class so it’s good, right?
But now I’m off to work from 11-8, this is probably how I’ll spend every monday/friday I have off. Though I do have the rest of the weekend off after this, so I’m excited!

I Love America

Don’t get me wrong, I love Canada too. I’m proud to be Canadian where we have our healthcare and everything else that we have, but I really love the states. For my dad’s birthday yesterday we went over to Niagara Falls, NY to go to Wal-Mart and Target, as well as a mall that was right beside Wal-Mart. Everything is SO MUCH cheaper over the border, from milk to clothing and just everything. Milk here is around $5, while it was $1.88 for the same amount at Wal-Mart in the states. McDonalds is way cheaper, as is Subway. And don’t even get me started on how much I just LOVED Georgia when we passed through last year while going to Florida.
At the end of February (during my reading week), my parents and I are driving down to Nashville, TN. Of course I’m excited about this seeing as it’s basically the country music capitol and because I’ll be able to shop at multiple Wet Seal locations (my FAVOURITE store, sadly it’s only in the states). I know that I’m going to love it there, and depending on how much… I seriously want to move there one day.
Maybe not Nashville, perhaps Georgia or another southern state- but I DO want to move to the states. Probably not permanently, as the process will probably be rather difficult, but I want to spend some of my life living there. I’ve been thinking a lot bout it lately, and my plan at the moment is to keep saving up until after school is finished (and probably until after I’m 21). Once I have (quite) a few thousand dollars, I’ll look into some places to stay for 4-6 months, since as a Canadian I can stay there for 6 months and just not work. So I’ll take those six months off using the money I saved up, though I’ll probably go insane without having anything to do. Or I’ll look into getting a work Visa, I’m not sure yet. But I do want to move SOMEWHERE in the states at some point, and I’m pretty excited about it.

Hello 2012

I can not believe that it’s already 2012. Happy New Year to you all, and I hope you had a good night- even if it was just relaxing. I stayed over at a friends house with all my best friends, and we had a pot luck dinner and just overall had a great night. And took over 500 pictures, haha. But that’s generally what we always do. It’s really weird to think about the fact that it’s 2012- where the hell is the time going? I can’t believe it’s already January, because it feels like just last month was the beginning of 2011.
2011 was quite a year for me. I had a great trip to Florida, had a new boy in my life for quite a few months (we never did date, but.. it was a ‘thing’), dealt more with David the Douche and ultimately did get over him, even if it took until December. I became obsessed with dresses and country music, and overall I think I’ve changed as a person. I started (and completed) my first semester of college with exceptional grades (minus one class, but I have switched courses so the same thing wont happen next semester) and turned 19. This will be my last year as a teen, so I’ll make the next 11 months until my birthday count. I also saved enough to get a Macbook Pro, and my own truck. There are still a lot of things I want to work on in 2012 and a lot of things I want to learn, but I am looking forward to it all.
And like last year, here’s a recap of my top songs, artists and albums of 2011 (according to LastFM) because I know that they are vastly different than last year, with the exception of Taylor Swift still being the top in 2 of the 3 categories. Some things just never change
