First year? Check.

As of last thursday, I am officially done my first year of college. I will get my marks back later this week but I’m pretty sure I did awesome in the majority of my classes *knocks on wood*. The only one I was iffy about was my spanish class, but I ended up getting 100% on the exam because it was the biggest derp exam of life.
Now that I’m done school, I’ve just been working. As of Wednesday, I have two jobs. One full time and one part time, though the part time will only be for another 2 weeks until my 2-week-notice kicks in. So this week I have 25+ hours at the full time job, and 30+ the part time one (seems very part time, eh?). Wednesday will be my first official day, starting at 8am and I’ll have to be at the grocery story for 4-8. And there’s about a half hour drive between the two so… should be a fun day!
I’m quite excited for my new job, because I’ll be working with one of my best friends! She’s been doing (paid) co-op there for the past 4 months, and has the next 4 months as well. It’s a soil/mulch company, and since it’s summer they need more help and asked her if she knew anyone that was looking for a full time job for the summer. I’ll be getting 50+ hours a week, and after 44 you get paid overtime. It’s a lot of just office work, calling customers to let them know when their trucks of dirt are coming (over 100 calls a day) but it’s still going to be better than my current job as a cashier. Even though my current boss is pissed that I’m leaving, and I was worrying about that, but I realized it’s not really my problem. I have worked there for almost 2 years, get paid minimum wage and they basically treat me as their slave. They are understaffed and always refused to hire more people, and we all get overworked because of it.
But considering it’s taken me almost a day to write this post, since I kept getting distracted… I’ll end it here. I will try my best to blog as much as possible this summer, but I don’t know how I’ll handle 10 hours of working every day. We’ll see…

I haven’t been able to sleep lately. I’m not sure why, but hopefully once I get back into the routine of school (I go back tomorrow, sigh) my sleeping will just figure itself out. Especially since I have to be up for 6am on Wednesday, to be at school for 8. Yay. When I can’t fall asleep, I’ve been spending my time browsing the internet. Lately, I’ve been looking for ways to earn money considering I want to move to Nashville one day.
I was talking with my family about what we’d do if we won Cash For Life, a scratch ticket where you win $1000 a week for life (though it’s actually only for 25 years). I said that I would move to Nashville, since I wouldn’t be able to work anyways. Talking about scratch tickets and gambling lead me to Pokerseeker.com. Pokerseeker is a site that helps you find the best poker places, both online and offline! If you’re looking to go on vacation to somewhere that has excellent poker tables, Pokerseeker has it covered. If you’re looking for new online poker games, Pokerseeker should be your first stop. I myself have never actually played online poker for money, but if I was as good for money online as I was for fun- I could probably make a good chunk of money. Nothing compared to my mom though, so I’ll have to let her know about Pokerseeker as well! If you’re looking for any poker needs, be sure to check out Pokerseeker!

World Financial Group Inc.

When thinking about the future, one thing that worries me most is finances, money, and how I’m going to afford to live in this very expensive world. I know that there are many, many people who are overlooked by companies in the financial services industry and I would never want to be one of them. World Financial Group Inc. is a company that is trying to help those exact people. By working with clients to create a customized strategy, World Financial Group Inc. is helping to protect them and their families from everything the other companies don’t want to help with. World Financial Group Inc. doesn’t just work with clients who have large amounts of discretionary income, but they work with everyday people to help them make critical financial decisions that help move them from where they are to where they want to be.
It is definitely something I will keep in mind in the future if I ever have a need for it.

Days Like These

I realized that I accidentally skipped Day 14 and went to 15, so I’ll do 14 now. Day 14 – A hero that has let you down. (letter)
I don’t have a hero that has let me down, so there’s not really much I can say here… Other than, Dear Taylor Swift: Why must your concert tickets be so expensive when I want to go so badly? Love, Meredith.
I can’t wait until tomorrow. To just have the day off and not have to go to work. The girl they hired last week already got fired today, so work was kind of entertaining to hear my boss ranting about her. But it was just so many days in a row, and I only have one day off now before another three. It’s not like it’s BAD or that I can’t handle the amount.. I’m just not used to it. Though one of the full timers was talking about how she might not be around much longer, so then I’d probably get even MORE hours… I guess I’d just have to get used to it though, because I need the money.
