Online Poker

I haven’t been able to sleep lately. I’m not sure why, but hopefully once I get back into the routine of school (I go back tomorrow, sigh) my sleeping will just figure itself out. Especially since I have to be up for 6am on Wednesday, to be at school for 8. Yay. When I can’t fall asleep, I’ve been spending my time browsing the internet. Lately, I’ve been looking for ways to earn money considering I want to move to Nashville one day.
I was talking with my family about what we’d do if we won Cash For Life, a scratch ticket where you win $1000 a week for life (though it’s actually only for 25 years). I said that I would move to Nashville, since I wouldn’t be able to work anyways. Talking about scratch tickets and gambling lead me to Pokerseeker.com. Pokerseeker is a site that helps you find the best poker places, both online and offline! If you’re looking to go on vacation to somewhere that has excellent poker tables, Pokerseeker has it covered. If you’re looking for new online poker games, Pokerseeker should be your first stop. I myself have never actually played online poker for money, but if I was as good for money online as I was for fun- I could probably make a good chunk of money. Nothing compared to my mom though, so I’ll have to let her know about Pokerseeker as well! If you’re looking for any poker needs, be sure to check out Pokerseeker!

I want to go to a WFG Convention

In my few years of blogging, I’ve read many posts about different conventions that are held for bloggers and people of the life. Though not specifically for bloggers (though I’m sure there were some there!), one that I came across recently was WFG Convention. This year, the convention was held in Las Vegas (somewhere I’ve always wanted to go, and plan on going one day!) at the beginning of this month. The WFG Convention contains many useful vendors, training, and motivational sessions that offer exciting tips, tools and materials to help everyone attending build their business.
If any of you are looking into/thinking about starting your own business, be sure to check them out! I have had many thoughts of going freelance/working from home/having my own graphic design/photography business (way in the future), and I think going to the WFG Convention one day would be a wonderful learning experience for that!
And not to mention, I’d get to go to Vegas.

eBridge Advertising

Now that I have my online photography portfolio set up (check out http://meredithturner.com!), I’ve been looking more into some advertising to get other people to view my pictures and get my name out there. One place I found was eBridge advertising. eBridge Advertising is online advertising that delivers phone calls from local customers. The site has an easy-to-understand picture display of how their advertising works, with where the ads would be placed for the best results for you (or your money back!). eBridge Advertising is definitely something I am looking into getting once I get some more pictures up on my portfolio site, so make sure you check them out if it’s something you need!

New computer!

I am now the owner (well, I have it on my lap right now- not that my credit card is actually paid off yet or anything) of a 13inch Macbook Pro. I am not quite yet used to it (so excuse any typos as the keyboard is quite different than what I’m used to), and not quite sure how I like it (especially considering the fact that it’s nearly impossible for me to download a free version of Photoshop CS5 for a Mac, so I’ll probably just cave once school starts and pay the student price for the full thing. Ugh. So if you know how to do that, let me know!) but it was a requirement that I bought one so I figured it’s best to get used to it BEFORE school starts. So far I have all of my music transferred over, but for the most part I’ll probably just leave everything on my 1TB external hard-drive. That, and keep my old computer handy so I can just get stuff from there if needed. But even after just a few hours on my mac (which is named Buddy), going back to my old computer to transfer some things to my hard-drive and look for mac-versions of PS was pretty difficult.
I’ll get used to it eventually, I suppose. I do like the Photo Booth though, for all of the effects. My mom and I had fun with that when she got home, haha. I don’t like the new version of Skype I had to get though: it’s terrible (though that could just be my dislike for change but hey, can’t stop that from happening). It has it’s pros and cons, but either way, I’m stuck with it.
In other new things, I am finally (for now) finished with the new site I’ve been working on! It’s a photography portfolio, located at http://meredithturner.com. I originally bought the domain for a graphic/web design portfolio, but I never got around to doing that. Since I was looking for a better way of displaying my photos, I decided to put that domain to use. It’s not *quite* how I pictured it in my head, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to get wordpress posts into columns myself so, I just downloaded a free layout that had that as a part of the layout and added my own background, logo, etc. I like it so far though, so feel free to comment/register (though I’m not sure what good that will do, ha)/browse around. N will eventually be seeing that, though I am never ever too fond of showing my nerd-ness to people offline in general, especially boys that I take an interest in. Oh well, it’s what I’ll be doing for the rest of my life so they might as well get used to it.
